MSA/TRUMBULL – Mid-States Asphalt manufactures and distributes a variety of products for built-up roofing (BUR) and other commercial applications.

From roofing asphalt to tapered insulation, including a wide variety of roll products, Mid-States has everything you need for your job — all on a single truck.

While STRUCTODEK HD with Primed Red Coating was designed with the single-ply application in mind it contains many of the same great attributes as STRUCTODEK HD with the traditional non-asphaltic black coating. Accordingly it also works well with asphaltic based systems (BUR), coal tar, and cold-process adhesive products. Additionally, STRUCTODEK HD with Primed Red Coating has also been successful in peel and-stick applications without the typical need for an additional primer in many instances. The rigid and strong, yet lightweight nature of STRUCTODEK HD with Primed Red Coating is better than heavier alternatives and will keep the roof load below the specified maximum weight. Structodek HD with Primed Red Coating is offered coated on 2 sides and available in 4’x4′ and 4’x8′ panels.

STRUCTODEK HD with Primed Red Coating can be used as an insulation board, cover board, or re-roof/recover board. The product is a high-density roofing board designed for low-slope single-ply, as well as traditional roof system applications.

Cant Strip

Mid-States Asphalt manufactures a full line of tapered insulation panels, cant strip and tapered edge strip. Mid-States tapered insulation is used in a wide variety of built-up roofing (BUR) and single ply roofing applications to help create positive drainage and prevent water from ponding. While 1/2”, 1/4” & 1/8” slopes are standard, special inclines are also available. Other sizes available include 1/16", 3/16" and 3/8".Mid-States tapered insulation is available for most warranted jobs.

TruLo Max®

TruLo® Max is a low-odor, low-fuming asphalt that delivers top roofing performance. Our proprietary odor- and fume-reduction chemistries reduce asphalt odor with a unique, dual-technology solution that results in low odor – neutralizing asphalt odor without impacting performance – thanks to a polymer ingredient that forms a fume-suppressing skim layer on the asphalt surface at the kettle

Trumbull TruLo® Max asphalt produces 60% less odor compared with our standard asphalt and is 55% more effective at reducing odor-causing compounds when compared to leading competitive low-odor asphalts and additives.  According to a National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health study, TruLo®Max reduces up to 90% of fumes at the kettle. The result: No messy or dangerous additive mixing at the kettle and controlled fumes at the kettle and odor on the roof.

El Niño has arrived. What does it mean for the weather?
By Roof Source on Feb 28, 2019 at 10:36 PM

It's official, an El Niño advisory is now in effect for the globe. After several months under a "watch," teetering on the edge of El Niño, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) has finally pulled the trigger.

The climate phenomenon may enhance an already very stormy pattern across California, making it even stormier.
The El Niño Southern Oscillation is a natural cycle of warmer and cooler than normal Equatorial Pacific Ocean temperatures. The El Niño phase is a warming of the Central and sometimes Eastern Equatorial Pacific sea surface temperatures, occurring every few years on average.
